Hello my blog family and friends. God is so awesome! He will bring a word of encouragement when you least expect. I was talking to a friend and in our conversation she stated she was thanking God that she was going through in peace. That she will not major in a minor. That one statement spoke to me on so many levels. Reminding me I still need to die to self. No matter what, my reaction must always reflect who I say that I am.
How often have we gave a minor situation, a major response? How many of us can play back different situation in our mind and realize we could have responded differently. I know many times I have visualized God shaking his head at some of my reactions, have you? Or do you always think before you speak or always pray before you react? If so, pray for the rest of us reading this blog, we still need help. God will allow us to stay in a place, or repeat a test until we no longer have a major response. Lord tame my tongue, help me with my reactions, and keep my face straight. We must remember that every action truly does not deserve a reaction, and the only way to keep our face straight and tame our tongue is to die to self. To die to self means you desire to please God more than you desire to please yourself. It means saying I’ll back up, let you have this fight, be quiet and let the Lord fight this battle for me. It means I’ll go home and cry out to God instead of opening my mouth and releasing this dragon on you. It’s saying even though you pushed me off the ledge, I’ll tie a knot at the end of the rope and prayerfully hold on because I know God has a rescue team on the way. Some may feel my reaction is major, because the problem is major. We serve a big God, we have a big brother, and the Holy Ghost, along with all of heaven backing us up. So nothing we face is major, it’s ALL minor. We will not major in a minor! Amen!!! I can feel it when I say it. I pray you can grasp hold and feel it as well. Majoring in the devils minors is only holding up the promotion God so eagerly wants to bless us with. It means we’re not ready to look beyond ones faults and see that they need Jesus. It means we don’t agree with the word of God when he says we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against spiritual wickedness (Ephesians 6:12).
I’m not saying being a child of God means we let people walk all over us, that’s not what I’m saying. What I’m saying is let them be used by Satan, but you continue striving to please God. Jesus didn’t let people walk over him, he let them kill him. I will say that again. Jesus did not let people walk over him, he let people kill him. Jesus did not major in the minor he was facing which was death. Instead he said “Father forgive them for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34). Job lost everything he had, all his possessions, his family, his wealth, and his health. Still, he did not major in the minors that he was facing. Instead, he states “though he slay me yet will I trust him” (Job 13:15). So no matter what test and trial we are facing, yet trust that God will bring us out on top, God will get the glory, and we will receive our promotion. Be blessed my blog family and friends. Remember, let’s not major in any minors.
